Film for cooking, pasteurization and sterilization

CrystalPAK, CrystalPAK Slim
CrystalPAK and CrystalPAK Slim – cooking, pasteurisation and sterilisation films are produced using the innovative Water Quench technology, i.e. water is used instead of air during the film cooling process. Thanks to this technology, the multilayer films produced are characterised by a high gloss, very high transparency and almost unparalleled physical properties in terms of tensile strength and puncture resistance.
Application
CrystalPAK and CrystalPAK Slim are designed for packaging the following products:
Meat packaging, bone-in meat packaging (extremely puncture-resistant film)
Seafood packaging, fish packaging
Cheese packaging
Packaging of heat-processed products (e.g. cooked vegetables)
CrystalPAK vs. CrystalPAK Slim
Thanks to the modified structure of the CrystalPAK Slim film, we are able to provide excellent film properties while reducing thickness. With thicker films (around 240, 200 μ) the thinning is as much as 40 – 50 μ, with thinner films (around 120, 80 μ) it is 25 – 30 μ.
The thickness reduction of the film results in a lower product fee, a smaller carbon footprint and a more environmentally friendly operation. We guarantee the assistance of our technologists and technical advisor when trying to make the transition to thinner films.

Properties of the film

Film for sterilisation, pasteurisation, sous vide, microwave

Multilayer film

Film thickness range: 65 – 240μ

Film with the most excellent gloss and crystal clarity

Foil with the most excellent puncture resistance

Foil with excellent thermoforming properties

Film for thermoforming line for vacuum and in MAP packaging

Film properties
Multilayer film

High barrier properties of the film (possible addition of EVOH for products with additional shelf life, possible addition of UV barrier for protection against product greying)

Film thickness range: 65 – 250μ

Film with excellent gloss and crystal clarity

Film with excellent puncture resistance

Film with excellent thermoforming properties

Film with low temperature sealability

GlossPAK, GlossPAK Slim
Films for thermoforming, vacuum packaging and MAP are produced using the innovative Water Quench technology, i.e. the film is cooled by water instead of air during production. Thanks to this technology, the multilayer films are characterised by high gloss, very high transparency and outstanding physical properties in terms of stretch and puncture resistance.
Application
Thermoforming film, vacuum packaging film, inert gas packaging film (MAP)
GlossPAK and GlossPAK Slim are designed for packaging the following products:
• Meat packaging
• Seafood packaging
• Fish packaging
• Cheese packaging
• Heat-processed products packaging (e.g. cooked vegetables)
• Coffee packaging
• Nuts packaging
GlossPAK vs. GlossPAK Slim
Thanks to the modified structure of the GlossPAK Slim film, we are able to provide excellent film properties while reducing thickness. With thicker films (approx. 250, 200 μ) the thinning is as much as 50 μ, with thinner films (approx. 120, 80 μ) it is 25 – 30 μ.
An additional feature of GlossPAK Slim film is that it can be pasteurised at up to 100 degrees Celsius (within a maximum of 1 hour, for foodstuffs without fat, e.g. vegetables).
The tickness reduction of the film results in a lower product fee, a smaller carbon footprint and a more environmentally friendly operation. We guarantee the assistance of our technologists and technical advisor when trying to convert to reduced thickness films.

ExtraPAK
ExtraPAK are films and laminates on which flexographic printing is possible. The individual constructions may vary, and each of them is adapted to the product being packaged by our technologist. Among the possible designs, we also offer monostructures, which are becoming increasingly popular with our customers. To date, we have launched packaging made from the following structures: mono PP, mono PET and mono PE. This packaging is 100% recyclable.
Application
ExtraPAK is designed for the packaging of the following products:
- Meat packaging
- Seafood packaging
- Fish packaging
- Cheese packaging
- Confectionary packaging
Flexographic printing - Wide web printer
PAK’s machinery park is equipped with two state-of-the-art wide web printers. We print up to 10 colours, in a maximum width of 1200mm. We have the ability to match double-sided printing with an accuracy of 0.2mm, and the Smart GPS system automatically fits the print as small as 40 metres. Online barcode quality control takes place across the width and length of the web.
We have our own photopolymer plate prepress and graphic studio, which ensures brand colour consistency on different types of packaging, as well as full control over the printing process, which secures on-time delivery of orders.
Depending on the type of packaging, we select the appropriate inks; these can be fluorescent, pearlescent, matt, glossy or metallic. Combinations of these effects – matt with glossy or matt with pearlescent – also work very well. Thermal inks, in which the print is only visible within a certain temperature range, work well in some projects. We also use soft touch inks (pleasant to the touch) or scented inks in the printing process.
